terms of use.

The terms for using our website, Paperclipit CMS and its optional Google Sheets integration.

Last updated: 25 October 2026

About these terms

These terms describe use of the website and Paperclipit CMS provided by paperclip.it web services. Contact us at [email protected]. Please read them before using the services.

Project scope, pricing, payment, hosting, support, cancellation and any service commitments are set out in the quotation, order or service agreement you accept. Those agreed terms take priority if they conflict with this page. These terms do not create a paid subscription merely because you visit the website, and changes to this page do not retrospectively change an agreed contract.

CMS accounts and permissions

You must be authorised to act for the person or organisation whose website, forms, content or Google account you manage. Provide accurate account information, keep credentials secure and use the access level appropriate to each team member. Do not share credentials or access another customer's information without permission. Tell us promptly if an account or connection may have been compromised.

You are responsible for instructions and publishing actions taken by people you authorise, subject to applicable law. Review team access when responsibilities change and remove access that is no longer needed.

Your content and form data

You retain your rights in the content, media and data you supply. You give us permission to store, process, transmit and publish it only as needed to provide the services you request, operate integrations and meet our legal obligations. This does not transfer ownership of your content to us. Rights in commissioned work are addressed in your project agreement; third-party materials remain subject to their licences.

You must have the rights and permissions needed for anything you upload or publish. Check content before publishing, including accuracy, accessibility and any necessary notices. CMS publishing may trigger a website build, so public updates can take time to appear and depend on a successful deployment.

If you collect personal information through forms or manage it in the CMS, you are responsible for deciding what to collect, establishing a lawful basis, providing your own privacy information, limiting access and setting appropriate retention. Where we process customer personal data on your behalf, the agreed data processing terms govern that work. Do not use general forms to collect sensitive information unless appropriate arrangements have been agreed.

Google Sheets integration

Connecting Google Sheets is optional and requires an authorised Google account and access to the spreadsheet you select. Google's terms and policies also apply to your use of its services. We are an independent provider; Google does not operate Paperclipit CMS.

When you enable delivery, the CMS sends mapped form fields and submission details to your selected spreadsheet and tab. It can read destination metadata, headings and submission identifiers, and update headings or columns needed to deliver entries. Use an empty tab or one already connected to Paperclip, check mappings and ensure the destination is appropriate for the information collected.

You control spreadsheet sharing and are responsible for reviewing who can see the data. Anyone granted access in Google may see information delivered there even if they do not have a CMS account. Connecting an account does not replace the notices or permissions needed from the people completing your forms.

Delivery depends on Google's availability, permissions, quotas and your saved configuration. Entries can be delayed or fail; check delivery status in the CMS and resolve errors before relying on a spreadsheet for time-sensitive work. The integration is not a guaranteed backup or a two-way synchronisation service. Editing or deleting a row in Sheets does not automatically edit or delete the CMS submission, and deleting a CMS submission does not automatically remove a spreadsheet row.

You can disable delivery or disconnect through the form's Google Sheets settings, or revoke access through your Google Account. Disconnecting stops future use of that connection but leaves existing CMS submissions and spreadsheet rows in place. See our Privacy Policy for information about permissions, tokens and deletion requests.

Acceptable use

Do not use the services to publish unlawful or infringing material, send spam, distribute malware, misuse personal data, attempt unauthorised access or disrupt other users. Do not bypass access restrictions or use an integration to access files you are not permitted to manage. Report vulnerabilities privately to [email protected].

Availability, support and suspension

We use reasonable care and skill in providing our services. Maintenance, security incidents, deployment failures and third-party outages may interrupt access. Any agreed uptime, backup, recovery or support commitments are stated in your service agreement.

We may restrict access where reasonably necessary to address unlawful use, a material breach or an immediate security risk. Where practical, we will explain the issue and give you a reasonable opportunity to resolve it. Suspension, ending a paid service and access to exports are otherwise governed by your agreement and applicable law. Contact us before closing an account to arrange any required content or submission export.

Website materials and external links

Our website materials, branding and software remain protected by intellectual property rights. You may view and use website information for ordinary personal or business reference, but must obtain permission before republishing protected material beyond what the law allows. Links to external websites are provided for convenience; those operators control their own content and policies.

Responsibility and your legal rights

We do not exclude or restrict responsibility for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Nothing here removes statutory consumer rights, including rights concerning reasonable care and skill. Any other allocation or limitation of liability for a paid service must be set out in the applicable agreement and comply with the law.

Privacy and cookies

Our Privacy Policy explains personal information handling, including the CMS and Google Sheets. Our Cookies Policy explains browser storage, sign-in sessions and third-party services.

Changes and disputes

We may update these terms as features or legal requirements change. The date above shows when this wording was updated. Changes affecting an existing service agreement will follow that agreement and applicable notice requirements.

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, subject to mandatory protections that apply where you live. Consumers retain any right to bring proceedings in their local courts and rely on mandatory local consumer law. Please contact [email protected] first so we can try to resolve a concern.
